J Stockard Fly Fishing Launches New Site with Enhanced Capabilities

Boston, MA - J Stockard Fly Fishing, a leader in the Fly Tying and Rod Building market, recently announced the re-launch of their website, www.jsflyfishing.com, to the Upshot Commerce platform. The new site boasts not only a fresh, new design, but also a robust integrated inventory control and order management system supporting backorders, drop ships, and a Purchase Order system. This new system allows J Stockard to competitively manage inventory and resources.

This new robust inventory control and order management system was the main feature motivating J. Stockard to look into upgrading their former ecommerce platform. In order to gain the functionality they required previously, J. Stockard was required to maintain an OMS separate from their website platform. This separate system created added layers of complexity in order processing, and made inventory control a real challenge, especially when it came to backorders. "Many retailers avoid backorders and drop ships in their inventory model, because it can be difficult to manage," says Upshot Commerce CEO Neal Kaiser. "Our system not only effectively tracks and accepts backorders, it also integrates them right into our purchase order system, allowing fast and efficient order fulfillment."

The National Gallery of Art relaunches Ecommerce

The government agency objective is to increase online sales, fulfillment efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.

With the relaunch of shop.nga.gov, The Gallery Shops (TGS), is taking its mission to support the collection, exhibitions, research, educational programs, and events at the National Gallery of Art (NGA) to an exciting new level by integrating the retail and online stores, adding new functionality for a richer shopping experience, and expanding the merchandise available to the public.

The new store, powered by the Upshot Commerce platform, adds a complete inventory control system, new functionality to accept and process phone orders, comprehensive support of backorders, an RMA system to manage returns, as well as custom touch points to seamlessly integrate the ERP and fulfillment systems. This integration increases order processing and administrative support, and provides a layer of customer self-management tools that enhance the overall user experience.

However, I have to say, adding the new layers of security to become FIPS compliant, plus the multitude of additional precautions undertaken was no trivial matter. The Gallery Shops are an NGA tradition and have existed for more than 70 years. The online shop was first launched in 2004 and is a critical component to its ongoing mission of support to the National Gallery of Art.
